MH SET Eligibility Criteria 2026

Educational Qualification

Applicants are required to hold a Master's degree to be eligible for the MH SET. Please note that candidates who have previously qualified for the SET in a specific subject are not permitted to re-appear for the examination in that same subject.

  • The candidates must have completed their Master’s Degree/ Post Graduation form recognized by U.G.C., in a subject of SET.
  • Candidates from the general category must have secured at least 55% marks (without gracing or rounding off )in the Master’s or equivalent examination.
  • Candidates from OBC/ SBC/DT(VJ)/NT [belonging to non-creamy layer and SC/ST//Trans genders/PwD/Orphans must be required to secure at least 50% marks (without gracing or rounding off) in Masters or equivalent Examination.
  • Candidates can appear for the MH SET Exam in the subject of their Post Graduation only e.g. Commerce: M.Com., Environmental Science, M.Sc. Env. Sci., Life Science, M.Sc. Life Science/Botany/Zoology/Microbiology/ Biotechnology etc., Home Science: M.Sc., M.A. Home Science.

There is no upper age limit restriction for candidates applying to the Maharashtra State Eligibility Test.

  2. On the homepage, click on the link that reads “Apply for M-SET held on 26th July 2026 (Sunday)”.
  3. For new registration.  Click on the tab ‘New User Registration for SET Exam 26th July 2026.’
  4. To complete the registration process, enter a valid email ID and password and click on the Submit tab.
  5. After the successful registration process, submit your application form by providing your personal details, education, and other required details.
  6. Upload a scanned copy of your Photo and Signature (Photo Size: 50KB JPG/ JPEG)/(Signature Size: 30KB JPG/ JPEG).
  7. Pay the application fee for the MH SET Examination as per category and click on the final submit tab.
