SSC JHT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants must fulfill the mandatory eligibility criteria concerning educational qualifications and age limits to apply for the Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, and Senior Hindi Translator roles.

Educational Qualifications

Master's Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects (or either as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory/elective subject) at the degree level, along with a recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa, or two years of translation experience from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central/State Government office or Government of India Undertaking.

Senior Hindi Translator Master’s degree from a recognised University in Hindi with English/ English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;

OR

Master's degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, featuring Hindi medium and English, or English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;

OR

Master's Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level.

AND

Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa, or three years of professional translation experience from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertakings.

Age Limit

The age limit for eligible candidates is 18 to 30 years. For the post of Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF, the candidate's age must also fall between 18 to 30 years.
